PESHAWAR: Taimur Salim Jhagra, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has alleged severe electoral malpractice during the 2024 general election in the constituencies of the provincial capital.
In a video Jhagra revealed that he obtained Form-45, recovered from a discarded bin, indicating irregularities.
He again urged his provincial government to take notice of the alleged rigging and order investigation.
Last week, Jhagra along with Kamran Bangsh urged the courts to expedite cases related to electoral fraud, asserting that "every candidate possesses some form of evidence of malpractice."
He called for investigations into nine returning officers, the capital city police officer, and the deputy commissioner regarding the alleged rigging.
Jhagra pledged to present evidence to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Bangash asserted that they had been vocal about the creation of new Form-45 from the outset.
He alleged that his votes in 51 out of 90 polling stations had been interchanged with Tariq Awan's in PK-82. Bangash further claimed discrepancies in voter count at his family's residence, stating that despite having 25 eligible voters, only 11 votes were registered at his home polling station.
Bangash disclosed that he had filed a petition through legal representation, demanding apologies from the returning officer and district returning officer to the public. He warned of nationwide protests against electoral fraud, vowing not to let the matter be swept under the rug."
