In yet another incident of killing over robbery resistance, a young boy was shot dead by dacoits in the Surjani town area of Karachi.

The harrowing incident happened near Abdullah Mor, Sector-4-D when the 32-year-old deceased, identified as Zohaib Irfan, was going to his maternal uncle's house for iftar.

According to the victim's uncle, four robbers on two motorcycles intercepted Zohaib at the corner of the street and tried to loot him.

Upon showing some resistance, the bandits opened fires which hit Zohaib's chest and right thigh.

“After seeing robbers in the street we closed the door, a few minutes after, we heard firing, and at the opening of door we found Zohaib critically injured," the victim's uncle said while talking to the media.

He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) West, Hafeez Ul Rehman Bugti said that the police had begun an investigation into the matter.

The police collected 9mm bullet shells from the spot and sent them to forensic liberty.

Following the distressing incident, Home Minister Sindh Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar took notice and ordered the immediate suspension of the Station House office of Surjani Town police station.
