Accident-survivor Marwat receives flak for driving car at 150km/h on motorway

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat survived a near-death car accident when he was returning from his native city Dera Ismail Khan to Islamabad on Sunday.

The news was shared by the PTI lawmaker on his microblogging site's official account.

According to Marwat, the armored Mercedes car he was traveling in suffered a double tyre blowout while traveling at 150 km/h on the Fateh Jhang road, causing the vehicle to spin out of control.

"Izhar [Marwat's driver] was driving the vehicle and the car speed was 150 KM/Hour. I witnessed my car whirling and spinning over the road and miraculously escaped the left-side ravine. and the heavy trollers over the road. The vehicle remained floating and rotating over the road for about half a kilometre. I helped Izhar control the steering. We remained unhurt ...," he wrote in a post. 

Marwat credited the prayers of his workers and well-wishers for his narrow escape.

"[...] I did not notice anything unusual except that bursting the two bullet-proof tyres within a second is unusual. Thanks to each one of you for sympathising with us," Imran Khan's lawyer conculded.

Social media users, in reply seciton, extended their gratitude to God for saving the lives of PTI leader and his accomplices.

However, some netizens lashed out at Marwat for exceeding speed limit of 120 km-h to 150 km/h on motorway.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sher Afzal Khan Marwat is facing opposition from some of his party's senior leaders who are not happy with his nomination as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in the National Assembly.
