The federal government has announced a December 31 deadline for Afghan nationals to leave Islamabad unless they obtain official permission to stay, following intense clashes between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters and law enforcement in the capital.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, while speaking to journalists in Islamabad, emphasized that Afghan nationals will not be allowed to remain in the federal capital without proper documentation after the deadline.
“Afghan nationals will not be allowed to stay in Islamabad without permission after the end of the next month,” Naqvi stated.
According to the government’s directive, any Afghan citizen wishing to stay in Islamabad beyond December must acquire a no objection certificate (NOC) from the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
