RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s top military leadership has stated that no individual or group will be allowed to undermine national unity, security or stability, regardless of political affiliation.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference was held under the chairmanship of Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The forum offered prayers for those martyred in recent terrorist incidents.
The conference paid tribute to security personnel and civilians who lost their lives while defending the country against terrorism, including acts carried out with foreign backing.
Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the professionalism, courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.
ISPR said the forum reaffirmed that all terrorists backed by India, along with their facilitators and supporters, would be dealt with decisively and without any leniency.
The Army Chief commended intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations carried out across the country and said that joint efforts by the government and the armed forces, along with the steadfast support of the public, were gradually moving Pakistan towards stability and dignity.
The conference reviewed the internal and external security situation, focusing on existing threats and operational preparedness.
It strongly rejected any nexus between terrorism, crime and political interests, stressing that attempts to harm national cohesion would not be tolerated.
Participants also emphasised that no one would be allowed to create divisions between the armed forces and the people of Pakistan.
The forum appreciated the Balochistan government’s special development initiatives, noting that such measures help address governance-related factors linked to terrorism through public engagement.
It called for similar initiatives in other areas to ensure lasting peace and stability.
The conference reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and restated the country’s principled stance on the Palestine issue.
It called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian access, and a credible path towards a Palestinian state.
