Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar on Tuesday was taken to a hospital after he felt chest pain in the Anti-terrorism court in Lahore.
The former federal minister's counsel confirmed the development.
Doctors said they had taken Asad's blood sample and conducted an ECG. The initial result of the ECG is normal.
Doctors informed that the veteran politician's blood pressure had dropped, causing the deterioration of his condition.
The health experts were doing further medical examinations and keeping him in observation.
According to hospital administration, Asad consumed blood pressure medicine on empty stomach, due to which he felt chest pain.
A video of the former minister showed that he was being shifted to a hospital.

Earlier on June 9, the former close aide of Imran Khan was shifted to the hospital in Karachi due to back pain.
It's pertinent to mention here that Asad is facing multiple cases related to May 9 violent protests and the cypher case.
Following the attacks on state institutions by Imran Khan's party, he announced his separation from PTI and left politics on November 11, 2023.
