Ask Gazans about the importance of an Independent State: COAS Asim

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan in his address at the National Youth Convention in Islamabad. 

"Seeing the sparkle in your eyes makes one believe that the future of Pakistan is in safe hands," Gen Asim told the youth sitting in the auditorium.

He termed the youth the most valuable asset of the country, believing that "they will not let this asset go to waste."

Pakistan Army head highlighted the significance of independence, saying "If you want to know the importance of a free state, then ask the people of Libya, Syria, Kashmir, and Gaza."

He recited a Quranic verse, reminding the audience that "Allah has indeed forbidden Muslims from despairing." 

General Munir also urged the poverty-hit masses of Pakistan not to lose hope.

"We must not lose hope, for life is a test, and we must persevere through it."

The Army Chief stressed the need for a strong relationship between the people, government, and the army.

"This is the only guarantee of Pakistan's development and progress," he added.

The top militaryman expressed his belief that the "Almighty will grant victory in the war against terrorism."

"Their [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's people] unwavering commitment to standing with the army against terrorism for 22 years is truly commendable."
