At least 24 people were killed and several injured after heavy rains with strong winds hit several parts of the country on Friday.

At least 13 of the family died in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Dir when the roof of their home collapsed due to the landslide induced by torrential rains.

In Sindh, nine lost their life in rain-related incidents in Jamshoro, Dadu, and Mirpur Khas districts, while a woman died in Karachi when a tree fell on her.

A man and his sister lost their life and three other family members were injured in a roof collapse incident in Toba Tek Singh.

In Balochistan, the flash flood swept away 13 people in Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Duki, Harnai, and Jhal Magsi areas of the province.

The official said seven members of a family swept away in Loralai were rescued after five hours. However, five people from Duki and one from Jhal Magsi remained missing.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) has predicted more rains across the country today (Saturday).

However, the cyclonic storm Asna has moved away from Sindh's coast and headed towards Oman.
