The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday approved the request of former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi seeking her to Adiala jail from Bani Gala-sub jail.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb announced the reserved verdict on the former first lady's petition.

Earlier, Bushra Bibi's plea was disposed of due to her lawyer's negligence, however, another petition was filed on the same day.

On January 31, Bushra Bibi and her husband were sentenced to 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana case.

Later, the couple was imprisoned for 7 years in an illegal marriage case.

However, the IHC had suspended their sentences in the Toshakhana reference on April 1, but Bushra Bibi remains behind bars in Iddat case.

Mrs Imran approached the court seeking a transfer from her residence to Adiala jail due to the suspicion of being poisoned in sub-jail.

Several times Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan alleged that the former was given poison in her food in sub-jail.

She also underwent medical checkups from her personal doctor and government doctors.

However, on April 30, the IHC emphasised that there was no substantiated evidence to support the claim that the former first lady was poisoned.
