Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday announced that cashless transactions have become operational at all passport offices across Pakistan.

In a post on X, Naqvi said the new system would spare citizens from waiting in long queues or spending hours making payments. “Alhamdulillah, starting today, cashless transactions are operational at all Passport Offices across Pakistan,” he wrote.

"Applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments," he added.

The interior minister said, “This important reform was initiated on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and our team has successfully delivered it.”

Naqvi termed the development another step towards making public services “faster, more transparent, and more convenient” for citizens, adding that more reforms were in the pipeline.

“Many more milestones lie ahead, and, InshaAllah, we will continue to achieve them,” he added while commending the passport team for its efforts.
