Newly released CCTV footage from the residence of Armaghan Qureshi captures the moment he opened fire on a police team during a raid in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The video shows a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) being shot and injured during the operation.
Qureshi, the main accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case, is seen in the footage accompanied by a girl while speaking on the phone and firing an automatic weapon.
The raid was conducted by the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), a specialised unit of the Karachi police, in February as part of their investigation into the alleged abduction and murder of 23-year-old Mustafa Amir, a BBA student who went missing on January 6.

His body was later discovered in a car near the Hub checkpost on January 12 and buried by the Edhi Foundation on January 16. It was later exhumed under the supervision of a judicial magistrate for further examination.
The scope of the investigation has since expanded. Authorities discovered a call center operating from Qureshi's residence, prompting the AVCC to coordinate with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to determine the nature of its activities.
Separately, the FIA registered a new case against Armaghan Qureshi, alleging his involvement in a hawala-hundi network, illegal cryptocurrency transactions, and online fraud.
According to the FIR filed by the agency’s anti-money laundering circle, Qureshi and his father had established a company in the United States to facilitate the illegal transfer of funds.
The FIA also claims that Qureshi set up an unauthorized call center in 2018 to run an organized network of scams targeting individuals in the U.S.
