For the in-depth investigation of the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sought a ‘Silver Notice’ from Interpol to trace the alleged properties of prime suspect Armaghan outside the country.

The sources stated that the FIA approached Interpol to allow them to trace Armaghan’s assets in193 countries. Additionally, the agency is considering freezing his accounts.

An official familiar with the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the action aims to repatriate laundered money to Pakistan.

A media report stated that this would be only the second Silver Notice of its kind to be approved by Interpol for the FIA.

FIA officials believe that Armaghan laundered a large sum of money to foreign countries through an international network, prompting authorities to dig more about his assets.

Earlier, on March 20, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Karachi Police had arrested Armaghan’s father, Kamran Asghar Qureshi, from his residence over his alleged involvement in drug peddling, an official said.

Senior Superintended Police (SSP) AVCC Aneel Haider had confirmed his arrest, stating that Kamran Qureshi, father of the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, was arrested from his residence in Karachi’s DHA phase V, Khayaban-e-Momin.

Kamran Qureshi was remanded into police custody for illegal possession of weapons and narcotics. He was presented before a judicial magistrate on March 21.

The court granted a two-day physical remand upon the investigation officer's request.

Qureshi's lawyer alleged that the AVCC obstructed his access to his client, despite court orders allowing the meeting.
