Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has paid tribute to the martyrs of the Kashmir freedom movement, saying that the dawn of freedom will emerge in accordance with the wishes and destiny of the Kashmiri people.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the chief of defence forces visited Muzaffarabad, where he laid a floral wreath at the Jammu and Kashmir Martyrs’ Memorial.

He paid homage to the martyrs, praising their courage, sacrifice and enduring struggle.

During interactions with dignitaries and veterans, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He said that Indian oppression, continued human rights violations and Hindutva-driven policies have failed to suppress the legitimate struggle and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the Kashmir cause.

The army chief stated that Pakistan would continue to raise the Kashmir issue forcefully at all relevant international forums until a just resolution is achieved in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

He added that Pakistan would continue to stand in complete solidarity with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

Field Marshal Asim Munir also praised the officers and soldiers deployed in the Kashmir sector for their unwavering commitment, high morale, professionalism and combat readiness.

He stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of preparedness, vigilance and inter-service coordination despite challenging operational conditions, to ensure a timely and decisive response to any provocation.

During the visit, he inspected a forward post and met troops stationed at the frontline, assuring them that any act of aggression would be met with a swift, robust and effective response.

He said the armed forces are fully prepared to counter both conventional and hybrid threats in the evolving security environment.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Muzaffarabad, the chief of defence forces was received by the Rawalpindi Corps Commander.
