Two suspects allegedly involved in a series of robberies and a fatal shoot-out in Chakwal were killed in an encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD), while a CCD official was arrested after being charged in the death of a minor girl during the incident, sources said on Saturday.
The development comes after nine-year-old Hania Ahmed was killed and her father, Adeel Ahmed, and brother, Aafan Ahmed, were injured when CCD personnel opened fire on a vehicle on Wednesday night. According to reports, the officials allegedly mistook the family's vehicle for that of robbery suspects. Hania died at the scene, while her father and brother sustained critical injuries. Her mother, Dr Sidra Khan, remained unharmed.
Following the incident, the first information report (FIR) was amended to include Section 302 (murder), leading to the arrest of a CCD official.
Meanwhile, two suspects identified as Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Feyaz were killed during a CCD operation on Thursday night. Officials alleged the pair were involved in multiple robbery incidents across Punjab and had a criminal record linked to several cases.
According to CCD officials, the suspects were allegedly involved in a number of robberies before arriving in Chakwal, where they reportedly stayed near Sutwal village. Authorities said investigations into the incident and the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting are ongoing.
