Senior politician and advisor to the prime minister, Hanif Abbasi, shared the exact moment he learned about the Indian military aggression during the recent escalation between Pakistan and India.
“I asked my daughter to cut a watermelon for me,” Abbasi said during a televised interview, as she brought it to me. I received the call informing me about the Indian attack.
Abbasi described the moment as surreal and heavy with the weight of responsibility.

Abbasi's remarks came as part of a broader discussion about Pakistan’s preparedness and response to the recent conflict, believed to be tied to India’s so-called ‘Operation Sindoor’—a failed military incursion that triggered a series of countermeasures from the Pakistan Armed Forces.
He praised the swift and coordinated response of Pakistan’s military and intelligence services and emphasized the importance of national unity in times of external threat.
