The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Saturday issued its seventh alert regarding Cyclonic Storm Asna.

In its advisory, the weather department said the storm had moved 200km away from Karachi and is now heading towards the Balochistan coastline and Oman.

"The system is likely to track further west-southwestwards," it added.

According to the Met office, the storm is likely to weaken and dissipate in the sea, with no chance of hitting any city.

However, the system is expected to bring rain-thundershowers with heavy falls and squally winds of 60-70Km/hour (gusting 80Km/hour) to various districts in Sindh and Balochistan, including Karachi, Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, and Gwadar.

Heavy downpours may cause water logging in low-lying areas of the Makran coast.

Sea conditions are expected to remain rough/very rough with squally winds.

Fishermen in Sindh are advised not to venture into the sea today (August 31), while those in Balochistan are warned not to do so till tomorrow (September 1).
