Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan has congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election.
During a conversation with the journalists and Lawyers in Adiala Jail, Khan said Donald Trump would adopt a neutral stance, unlike President Biden, whom he accused of being influenced by a lobbying effort led by General Bajwa with the involvement of Hussain Haqqani.
Khan said his release would happen inside Pakistan, and there would be no need for 'foreign help'.
Khan, who remains incarcerated admitted to making two errors: prolonging General Bajwa’s tenure as army chief and opting for a fragile coalition government instead of pushing for new elections.
Khan depicted a grim situation regarding Pakistan’s political environment, stating that democracy is merely a facade.
He criticized the judiciary for its compromised independence and remarked that elections alone do not equate to genuine democracy.
He stressed the importance of conducting free and fair elections, an autonomous judiciary, the supremacy of law, and accountability, contending that even authoritarian regimes can orchestrate superficial elections.
Additionally, he claimed there is total media censorship in Pakistan, asserting that his remarks are not covered in newspapers. He alleged that the government has usurped control of the Supreme Court through constitutional alterations, allowing them to act without accountability.
He accused the Chief Election Commissioner and ex-CJP Justice (retired) Qazi Faez Isa of facilitating the theft of the PTI’s mandate, alleging they conspired to defeat PTI, which is the largest party in Pakistan.
