The weather in Karachi is likely to become pleasant as the metropolis is expected to receive drizzle and light rain from today (Tuesday), weather analysts said.

The weatherman, Naveed Khatri said the port city is likely to receive light downpours from June 4 to June 5 under the influence of Somalian thrust.

In his video prediction, weather analyst Jawad Memon said that pre-monsoon moisture will hit Karachi from June 4.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted heavy rain with thunderstorm in upper and central parts of Pakistan from this week.

According to the latest advisory issued by the Met office, downpours are expected to hit Chitral, Dir, Swat, Diamir, Astore, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Murree, Galliyat, Quetta and Zhob from June 4 to June 7.

"Duststorm/thunderstorm with rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan and Kurram from June 4 (evening/night) to June 8 with occasional gaps," the weather department said.

The cities that are likely to be hit by rain coupled with thunderstorm and duststorm from June 4 to June 7 are Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha and Mianwali.

"Duststorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is also expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Sahiwal, Multan and Layyah from June 5 (Evening/night) to June 7."

Balochistan's Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Sherani, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti and Barkhan will also receive rain from June 5 to June5 .

Isolated rain and thunderstorm are also predicted in Sindh's Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Larkana on June 6 and 7.
