A judicial magistrate in Karachi has extended the physical remand of a man accused of allegedly killing his 58-year-old wife with an iron rod.

The case was heard in the court of the Judicial Magistrate (West), where the accused, identified as Asghar Ali, was produced after the completion of his previous remand period.

During the proceedings, the investigating officer informed the court that interrogation was ongoing and further custody was required to reach the facts of the case.

The court accepted the police request and extended the physical remand of the 64-year-old suspect for six more days. It also directed the investigating officer to submit a progress report at the next hearing.

According to police, the accused allegedly killed his wife and later went to the police station himself to report the incident. A case has been registered against him at the Pakistan Bazaar police station, and further investigation is underway.
