The newly appointed European Union Ambassador to Pakistan, Raimonds Karoblis, has said that the decision regarding Imran Khan’s release lies solely within the jurisdiction of Pakistan’s courts.
Speaking to Geo News, the EU envoy stated that Pakistan’s demand that Afghan soil must not be used for terrorism is valid.
According to Raimonds Karoblis, more information is required to assess the Afghan Taliban’s commitment to the Doha Agreement, while talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan should continue under Türkiye’s mediation.
He further added that Pakistan’s concerns regarding the banned TTP are legitimate.
Responding to a question, the ambassador said that constitutional amendments are Pakistan’s internal matter, and the decision on the release of PTI founder Imran Khan rests entirely with the judiciary.
