Renowned Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik's recent lecture in Karachi took an unexpected turn when MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar was caught sleeping on camera.
The session titled 'Zakir se Pochye', held at Polo Ground adjacent to the Governor House in the port city, drew a large audience, including several prominent MQM-P leaders.
The event was attended by MQM-P's Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar and other notable figures.
However, the highlight of the evening was Farooq Sattar's impromptu nap.
The cameraman caught the MQM-P lawmaker dozing off during the lecture, which was broadcast on SMD screens for all to see.
The audience couldn't help but burst into laughter at the sight, prompting the cleric to inquire about the commotion.
One of the volunteers kindly informed the 58-year-old scholar that Mr Sattar had fallen asleep.
However, the matter was quickly dissolved after a brief moment of laughter.
Dr Naik is currently in Pakistan for a month-long visit, which began on September 30.
Upon his arrival at Islamabad airport, he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Additional Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Syed Dr Attaur Rehman, Parliamentary Secretary Religious Affairs Shamsheer Ali Mazari, and other dignitaries.
A day earlier, the globally celebrated personality included his public lectures in the metropolis.
Mr Naik will hold private meetings from October 7 to 10 in the port city.
He will then travel to Lahore and deliver lectures on October 12 and 13, and later in Islamabad on October 19 and 20.
These events will be broadcast live on Peace TV, allowing a broader audience to benefit from Dr. Naik's expertise in comparative religion.
