The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has identified 20 individuals accused of tax evasion, including two social media influencers who frequently showcase their extravagant lifestyles and luxury foreign trips online but failed to declare their assets and income in official tax filings.
According to reports, a travel vlogger and a digital content creator are among those under investigation. The two were traced through their social media activity, which revealed multiple high-end international trips between 2020 and 2025.
One of the influencers reportedly belongs to a political family from South Punjab. Despite owning several luxury cars, none of these vehicles were declared in his income tax documents. Records show that he traveled to Seychelles, the UAE, the Philippines, Spain, and the Netherlands from 2020 to 2022.
In 2023, he continued visiting destinations such as Türkiye, the Maldives, and Georgia, followed by several Arab and European countries in 2024, including Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, France, and Belgium. This year, he reportedly made additional trips across Europe.
Despite such lavish travel patterns, the influencer declared only minimal income in his tax returns, figures that do not align with his apparent spending and luxury lifestyle.
The FBR further discovered that the individual failed to disclose the sources of funds used to acquire his vehicles. The estimated value of his undeclared assets is around Rs624 million.
Investigators also found evidence suggesting ownership and use of 19 vehicles, including sports cars, luxury SUVs, off-road trucks, motorcycles, and an ATV.
The declared income and asset details, according to the FBR, clearly point toward tax evasion. However, the authority has withheld the influencer’s identity as the investigation remains ongoing.
