Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has issued a public apology to Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Palwasha Khan during a Senate session, following a heated exchange at a committee meeting earlier this week.

Addressing the House, Aleem Khan said an unfortunate incident had occurred during a meeting of the Standing Committee and stressed that he had always sought to maintain respectful relations with colleagues throughout his 24-year political career.

“Sometimes such moments happen,” he said, adding that he sincerely regretted the incident.

He formally apologised to Senator Palwasha Khan, Senator Pervez Rashid and other members, stating that his apology was heartfelt.

Responding to the apology, Senator Palwasha Khan said that all members deserved equal respect and expressed hope that such incidents would not be repeated in future committee meetings.
