FIA's female prosecutor faints in courtroom after being questioned by Karachi judge

KARACHI: A female prosecutor from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) fainted in court after being questioned by the judge of Karachi's Customs and Anti-Smuggling Court.

The special court judge expressed anger towards the FIA prosecutor, asking why FIA authorities had not appeared in court. The prosecutor responded by saying that they had not been informed about how to appear.

The court, displaying frustration, asked, "How did you become a prosecutor?" The female prosecutor replied, "I passed the Federal Public Service Commission exam and was recruited on merit."

According to court staff, due to the judge's harsh tone, the prosecutor collapsed inside the courtroom.

Sources reported that the prosecutor sustained injuries to her head and back. A doctor was immediately called to provide initial medical assistance.

Sources further mentioned that the special court judge left for his chamber, while the prosecutor was seated in the judge’s staff room. Once she felt better, she was sent back to her office.
