Sanam Javed, a social media activist for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was re-arrested by Gujranwala police soon after her release from Sargodha jail.
Sanam Javed was arrested for her alleged involvement in the Gujranwala Cantonment riot case.
This move by the police aimed to further investigate her role in the May 9 riots, a case that had already implicated another PTI member, Alia Hamza.
In a previous legal development, the Lahore High Court had addressed a petition filed by PTI leader Sanam Javed, eventually concluding with a favorable outcome for her.
The court's decision came after she received a "Robkar" while in Sargodha Jail, marking a significant milestone in her legal proceedings.
During the court session presided over by Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan, the application filed by Muhammad Javed Khan was reviewed, with Additional Inspector General (AIG) Jail Establishment Shahram Tauqeer making an appearance as the Jail Superintendent of Kot Lakhpat.
Providing detailed insights into the process, the AIG informed the court that a Deputy Superintendent Jail Judicial had received the Robkar on June 1, promptly dispatching it via registered post to District Jail Sargodha. Assurance was also given by the AIG that communication had been made with the Superintendent Jail Sargodha, confirming the receipt of the Robkar on their end.
