Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's son Hasan Nawaz has been declared bankrupt by the London High Court in a case filed by UK authorities in 2023.

The bankruptcy order was issued in a tax case initiated by the UK Government's Tax Revenue Department, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Lawyer Kaur Maxwell represented him in the case.

According to court records, the case, numbered 694 of 2023, was filed on August 25, 2023. The order declaring Hasan Nawaz bankrupt was issued on April 29, 2024.

The bankruptcy order, issued by the UK court, triggers a personal insolvency process and was subsequently published in the London Gazette by The Insolvency Service.

Details published in the UK Gazette confirm that Hasan Nawaz resides at Flat 17, Avenfield House, 118 Park Lane, and has held a directorial position in a company. 

Following the bankruptcy declaration, Hasan Nawaz is barred from holding directorial or managerial positions in any company unless a court grants him permission or discharges him from bankruptcy.

As of now, Hasan Nawaz has not issued any statement regarding the court's decision.
