The port city is likely to receive heavy rain with strong winds on Wednesday (today), according to the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD).

The advisory issued by the Met Office said the weather will remain partially cloudy, hot, and humid across Sindh, however, Karachi, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Jamshoro are expected to be lashed by heavy showers.

The temperature is expected to hover between 32°C to 34°C in the metropolis. 

The winds are blowing from the southwest direction at a speed of 16 kilometres per hour with a 75 percent humidity level, it added.

Meanwhile, other parts of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan are also anticipated to receive heavy downpours.

A day earlier, torrential rains in Sindh disrupted the daily routine in several areas, including Sanghar, Nowshero Feroze, Sukkur, and Benazir Colony. 

“So far, the province received more rain than predictions were made by the PMD official,” said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), torrential rains and thunderstorms across Pakistan claimed over 195 lives in the last 37 days.

The report encircled the devastation of properties, crops, livestock, and casualties caused by the monsoon spells.

From July 1 to August 17, the death toll from rains reached 195, including 68 in Punjab, 65 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 32 in Sindh, 15 in Balochistan, 4 in Azad and Jammu Kashmir.
