Jammat-e-Islami Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said whoever has imposed Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in Karachi has tried to promote terrorism in the metropolis.
"MQM-P didn't win a majority at a single polling station out of 5,500, he said while addressing a press conference in Karachi.
"Whoever has tried to impose MQM-P in Karachi has tried to promote terrorism”, the JI leader said.
“This will not benefit Pakistan. This is against the people. This goes against the Constitution of Pakistan,” he added.
Naeem demanded authorities to declare all election results from Karachi null and void.
Earlier on Monday, Naeem withdrew from the Sindh Assembly seat in protest against the alleged rigging in elections, held on February 8 across the country.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he admitted that his constituency was won by a PTI-backed candidate but it was given to him in 'charity.'
"I don't want a seat in charity. I bagged 30,464 votes as per form-45 but ECP's form-47 was manipulated to favour MQM-P. Even PTI was winning in the elections and we accepted their mandate. But it was all done to facilitate MQM-P who even cannot win a councilor seat," he said in a presser.
In the Feb 8 polls, JI Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman had clinched PS-129 with 26,926 votes, while MQM-P's Maaz Mukaddam came second with 20,608 votes.
