A district and sessions court has acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and several other party leaders in two cases related to long march vandalism.

Among those acquitted are Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Zartaj Gul, Ali Nawaz Awan, Faisal Javed, Qasim Suri, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Shireen Mazari, Saifullah Niazi, and Asad Umar.

Additionally, the court acquitted Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.

The cases against Imran Khan and the other politicians were registered at the Kohsar and Karachi Company police stations for violations of Section 144. The sessions court's decision followed the hearing of acquittal pleas filed by these individuals.

Judicial Magistrate Shahzad Khan acquitted Imran Khan, Qureshi, Rashid, Awan, Suri, and Nawaz in the case registered at the Kohsar police station.

Meanwhile, Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas announced the reserved decision on the acquittal plea of Imran Khan, Qureshi, Mazari, Niazi, Umar, Gul, Awan, Javed, and Nawaz in the case filed at the Karachi Company police station.
