Former prime minister Imran Khan was administered a fourth intravitreal eye injection at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Tuesday as part of his ongoing treatment, with hospital authorities confirming he remained clinically stable throughout the procedure.

According to a medical update, Khan — currently incarcerated at Adiala jail — was brought to the hospital for the scheduled follow-up treatment. Prior to the procedure, ophthalmologists conducted a clinical examination and an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scan, which indicated signs of improvement.

The hospital stated that the injection was administered in the operation theatre under microscopic guidance, following informed consent and standard monitoring protocols. All precautionary measures were observed during the day-care procedure.

Doctors reported that the PTI founder remained vitally stable before, during and after the treatment. He was later discharged with instructions for further care, follow-up consultations and necessary medical documentation.

This marks the latest phase in Khan’s eye treatment. He had previously received his third intravitreal injection on March 23 after being shifted from Adiala jail to PIMS for evaluation and care.

Earlier, on March 18, a medical board comprising five doctors conducted a detailed examination at the jail on the directives of the Islamabad High Court.
