Following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s picture from jail went viral on social media, the Supreme Court (SC) has curbed entry with mobile phones inside the courtroom.
A day earlier, Imran Khan appeared before the court via video link in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendment case.
Before initiating the proceeding, a three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa had stopped concerned authorities from live broadcasting.
However, a court staffer leaked the former prime minister's picture, which went viral on social media within minutes.
Reacting to the leak, the apex court restricted the court staff, lawyers, and journalists from bringing mobile phones into the courtroom.
However, the inquiry is underway to arrest the suspect behind the leak photo.
The SC administration instructed the staff to watch the CCTV camera and identify the person who made the picture viral as the "snap was taken in violation of courtroom rules".
