The Indian government on Tuesday blocked the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, according to reports by a private TV channel.

While Pakistan has yet to issue an official response, the move comes amid heightened tensions and mutual accusations following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Just a day earlier, India had also blocked access to 16 major Pakistani YouTube channels, including prominent news networks such as Geo News, ARY News, SAMAA TV, Dawn News, BOL News, and GNN. Indian authorities accused these channels of disseminating “provocative and communally sensitive content.”

The digital clampdown reportedly followed recommendations from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which killed over two dozen people.

Indian officials claim these steps are part of efforts to counter what they view as harmful narratives originating from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated further when Pakistani forces on Tuesday shot down an Indian quadcopter that had allegedly entered Pakistani airspace along the Line of Control (LoC).

Security sources reported that the quadcopter crossed into the Manawar sector of the Bambar area for surveillance purposes. Pakistani troops responded promptly and brought it down.
