India's Jaishankar arrives in Pakistan to attend SCO summit

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting in Islamabad.
It is the first visit of any Indian foreign minister in a decade.
Jaishankar’s plan landed at Nur Khan Base Rawalpindi, where a delegation led by federal minister Musadiq Malik welcomed him. The visit was materialised at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Nur Khan Base was abuzz with activity as high-level officials from various countries arrived to attend the SCO summit.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui warmly welcomed Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Rashid Meredov, setting the tone for the prestigious event.
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik received Tajik PM Kohir Rasulzoda and Kyrgyz Republic PM Akylbek Japarov, along with their respective delegations.
The arrival of Belarusian premier Roman Golovchenko was marked by a gracious reception from Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar.
The excitement is palpable as the summit gears up for three days of high-level discussions and collaborations.
Notably, PM Shehbaz extended a special welcome to his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang, who arrived ahead of the commencement of the summit, underscoring the significance of the upcoming deliberations in Islamabad.
