Interior Minister denies rumours of Field Marshal Munir replacing President Zardari

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has categorically denied reports suggesting any plan to replace President Asif Ali Zardari or appoint Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the next President of Pakistan.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Naqvi dismissed the speculation as baseless and politically motivated.
“We are fully aware of who is behind the malicious campaign targeting President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and the Chief of Army Staff. I have categorically stated that there has been no discussion,nor does any such idea exist,about the President being asked to resign or the COAS aspiring to assume the presidency,” he said on X.

Accoording to Naqvi, President Zardari directly addressed and strongly denied recent rumors, stating, "I know who is spreading these falsehoods, why they are doing so, and who stands to benefit from this propaganda."
Adding to this, Mohsin Naqvi emphasised that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) is solely focused on "the strength and stability of Pakistan, nothing else."
Naqvi further stated that certain elements, in collaboration with "hostile foreign agencies," are attempting to spread these baseless rumors to incite instability and chaos. However, he affirmed that the government remains dedicated to ensuring stability.
