Court approves exhumation of Mustafa Amir's body

The court granted permission on Monday to exhume Mustafa Amir’s body for a post-mortem and DNA examination. The plea was submitted by the investigation officer to determine the cause of death of the victim, who was killed by his friend Armughan.
The investigation officer in the Mustafa Amir murder case had submitted a petition in the court exhumation of the victim's body for DNA and a post-mortem examination.
The petition was filed before the session judge south, stating that exhuming the victim’s body was essential for autopsy and DNA, as the police had yet to determine the cause of death and whether Mustafa was killed in Karachi or burned alive in his car at the Hub Chowki area.
In an effort to uncover the cause of death, police had decided to seek permission from the court to exhume Mustafa’s body for post-mortem and DNA analysis.

Apart from the investigation, the mother of the victim expressed satisfaction with the probe into the matter, stating that the case was being handled well, as Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon heard their grievances.
“My son and Armaghan did not share a friendship; Armughan can't be anyone's friend,” she added.
Earlier, the police had said that modern weapons were recovered from the bungalow of the primary accused, Armughan. The CTD was tasked to find out the origin of these weapons.
Moreover, the AVCC sought assistance from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to analyse the data from 64 laptops recovered from the accused residence.

CCTV footage surfaced during the investigation, showcasing Mustafa leaving his home at 6:30 on January 6 in a black car.
According to the victim’s mother, his phone went switch-off about an hour later, leaving the family suspicious.
However, the police believed that the cause of death would be revealed after a post-mortem and DNA test after exhumation of his body.
