Additional session judge Afzal Majoka has postponed the hearing of appeals filed by Bushra Bibi and her husband PTI founder Imran Khan, challenging their sentence in 'Iddat Nikkah’ case.
Bushra Bibi’s legal team, comprising Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry and Usman Riaz Gul, attended the court session.
On Thursday, PTI lawyers submitted the written order from the Islamabad High Court.
Usman Riaz Gul requested the court to schedule the hearing for the following day, saying, “We are available today, please hear us today.”
“If I am alive, I will decide within 10 days. If the other party does not show up, I will hear your side and make a decision,” the judge remarked.
Judge Majoka concluded by saying, “I am drafting the order. There will be something more significant than the notice; consider the history.”
On June 3, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) reassigned the PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi’s Nikah Case to a different court.
The case was moved to the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.
Session Judge Shahrukh Arjumand had written to the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court requesting the case transfer after Khawar Manika objected to Session Judge Shahrukh Arjumand.
