Karachi is expected to witness hot and humid weather from the middle of this month, said a weather expert on Monday.
According to weatherman Jawad Memon, feels-like temperature in the port city is likely to touch 40-42 °C with a high level of humidity.
“Very hot days ahead for Karachi,” said weather analyst Jawad Memon in his regular predictions, where he added that mercury is expected to rise to over 37°C the next six to eight days in Karachi.
He noted that feel-like temperature could be up to 38-42°C due to the high level of humidity.
“The situation can turn like a heat wave, but it would not be a heatwave,” said Memon.
However, on Monday, the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) predicted that the temperature in Karachi is expected to go up to 35-37°C. 71 percent humidity was recorded in the air.
Winds were blowing from the North direction at a speed of 7 kilometres per hour, it added.
Previously, in a long-range forecast, Memon predicted the formation of a tropical cyclone in the Arabian Sea in the middle of October.
He explained aquatic activities began in the deep sea, but it was not clear at the time how strong the cyclone would be, and how it would impact on Pakistani sea range.
