Karachi is likely to remain partly cloudy during the next 24 hours with the possibility of light rain and drizzle in the metropolis, the Pakistan Metrological Department said on Thursday.
According to the Met office, the temperature in the port city is likely to drop further from today (January 4).
The weather forecast department said the weather will remain dry and cold across Sindh in the night hours, however, the cities would be enveloped in fog in the morning hours.
According to the PMD, the maximum temperature in the metropolis may go up to 26°C or 28°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 14.5°C.
The percentage of humidity in the air is 64%, while the speed of winds blowing from the east is six kilometres per hour, the department said.
Weather analyst Jawad Memon said that there are some chances of drizzle and light rain in Karachi today.
"Under the influence of Western disturbance, thunderclouds are forming in the south-west of the Arabian Sea and Makran coastline. By late afternoon, western turf may approach the port city, which will cause drizzle in the metropolis," he said in a post from his weather updates account.
However, the Air Quality Index (AQI), which was recorded this morning, indicates that the air quality in Karachi was "extremely unhealthy".
The amount of polluted particles in the city's air has been recorded between 200 to 221 particulate meters.
