Karachi is likely to receive isolated showers in next 2-4 hours as thunderstorms have formed over Northeast of the city.

Monsoon rains have begun in various cities of Sindh as showers were reported in Umerkot, Tharparkar, and Tando Muhammad Khan.

According to weather expert, Jawad Memon, the depression is moving towards Sindh and currently is nearing Indo-Pakistan border from Rajasthan.

Memon said the depression from Rajasthan is moving towards Pakistan and adjusting its time.

He said upto 130mm average rain will be witnessed in Karachi.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected until September 11 in Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, and several other cities.

In Karachi, heavy showers are predicted from this evening through Thursday, with intermittent downpours likely. 

The department has also warned of the risk of urban flooding due to intense rainfall, Memon said.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for cities in South Punjab over the next two days.

Areas likely to be affected include Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sadiqabad.

The NDMA has further cautioned that heavy rainfall could trigger flash floods in hill torrents and pose risks of landslides.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Northeastern Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Hot and dry weather will prevail in other parts of the country, the PMD said in its forecast.

Islamabad, Peshawar and Gilgit twenty-six degree centigrade, Lahore twenty-seven, Karachi twenty-nine, Quetta twenty-one, Murree twelve and Muzafarabad twenty-three degree centigrade.  

According to the weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain and wind with thundershower is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula.

Temperature recorded this morning:    

Srinagar fifteen degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-six, Leh eight, Pulwama, Anantnag and Baramula seventeen and Shopian eighteen degree centigrade.
