Since its official launch in October 2025, the Sindh Police’s Traffic Regulation System TRACS has generated over 288,000 e-challans in Karachi, a police report revealed on Thursday.
In a performance review at the CPO, Javed Akhtar Odho, IGP Sindh was told that 52 percent of the e-tickets have been delivered to vehicle owners’ registered addresses while 48 percent remain in process due to address changes, refusals, or incomplete details. Redelivery efforts are currently underway.
Officials also reported that 71 percent of issued fines have been paid, and many others were waived for first-time offences.
Meanwhile, 7,681 complaints were lodged against the e-challan system; 81 percent have been resolved while the rest are under review.
Since October 27, around 12,000 vehicles have been blacklisted under TRACS for violations including non-transfer of ownership, fake or incomplete number plates, theft, and other offences. The IGP directed traffic police to take strict action on these vehicles.
Furthermore, the IGP also ordered that blacklisted vehicle data be shared with Safe City cameras, Emergency Response Vehicles, and the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell for enhanced tracking and enforcement.
In a push to modernize policing, the IGP instructed that e-tickets be issued via smartphones emphasizing the importance of technology in simplifying law enforcement.
It was also decided in the same meeting that heavy vehicles will be fined Rs100,000 if found operating without approved trackers.
