Karachi Traffic update: Key routes reopened and closed amid MWM protests

Protests continue in Karachi following the incident in Parachinar, with major roads and routes closed across several areas. Below are the details of road closures and alternative routes:

East District:

1. M.A. Jinnah Road near Numaish Chowrangi is closed for traffic.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is diverted via 45 Congress, PP Chowrangi, Guru Mandir, Soldier Bazaar, Society Signal, Corridor Three, and Baitul Road.

2. Kamran Chowrangi is closed in all directions.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is being diverted from Mausamiat to University Road and from Manwar Chowrangi into the inner areas.

3. Johar Mor to Johar Chowrangi is now open for traffic.

   • Note: The road from Johar Chowrangi to Johar Mor remains closed.
   • Alternative Route: Traffic coming from Johar Chowrangi is being diverted through Perfume Cut and then back to Johar Chowrangi.

Malir District:

4. Abu al-Hasan Isfahani Road towards Super Highway and Abbas Town is closed from both sides.
   • Alternative Route: Traffic is being diverted via Paradise Bakery, Fariya Chowk, and through the interior roads to the Punjab Adda.

Central District:

5. Five Star Chowrangi is completely closed.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is flowing via the Service Road.

6. University Road near Metro Shopping Center is closed towards the Samama and NIPA roads.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is diverted into the inner areas.

7. Shamsuddin Azimi Road near KDA Flats towards Surjani Road is closed for traffic.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is diverted via Total Petrol Pump to the Service Road.

8. Anjoli Shahrah Pakistan towards Sohrab Goth is closed.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is diverted from Water Pump Chowrangi to Cardio Hospital and Gulberg Chowrangi.

9. Nawab Siddique Ali Khan Road near Nazeemabad No. 1 towards Nazeemabad No. 2 is closed.

   • Alternative Route: Traffic is diverted through Lasbela towards Teen Hatti.

10. Shahrah Pakistan near Ayesha Manzil Chowrangi is closed.

• Alternative Route: Traffic from Karimabad is diverted through IRC, Ayesha Manzil Bridge, and into the inner areas. Traffic from Water Pump is diverted to Arshi Market and interior areas. Traffic from Tahir Wala is redirected towards the inner areas, and traffic from Macca Chowk is diverted towards Fidayee Hospital.
