The port city welcomed the onset of winter on Monday as temperatures dropped to 11 degrees Celsius. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast further temperature drops this week.

The weather deapartment predicted that the port city will experience dry weather with clear skies.

The minimum temperature recorded on Monday morning was 11°C, and is expected to remain around 11°C during the day.

On Friday, weather analyst Jawad Memon predicted that a La Nina system would enter Pakistan from Balochistan. This system would bring chilly winds and low temperatures to parts of the country, including Karachi.

Memon stated that, under these conditions, "the minimum temperature could fall to 10°C within the next couple of days," likely leading to further drops in nighttime temperatures.

However, radars also detected some smog in Karachi, reducing visibility to 3 kilometers.

Similarly, light fog was predicted for some areas in Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Gurdaspur districts during the morning hours.

According to the Met Office, slow northeast winds were observed on Monday.
