Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that if Pakistan and India enter into negotiations, three major points, including the Kashmir issue would be discussed, stating that it is a “golden chance” for both countries to resolve the long-standing dispute.
Kashmir is a disputed territory in the region, divided between Pakistan and India. It has remained a core issue between the two countries for decades and has led to several conflicts over the years.
However, the minister sees this moment as a window of opportunity for both nations, stating, “Kashmir, water, and terrorism are three major issues that are part of our 76-year-long history. This is a golden chance to bring them to the table for discussion.”

“Donald Trump has made another breakthrough by raising the Kashmir issue. He also believes that the Kashmir conflict should be part of the dialogue,” he added.
The Defense Minister said, “All wars have been fought over Kashmir. The conflict the day before yesterday was also linked to Kashmir. Modi tried to push the region into chaos, but our forces stood like an iron wall. These issues must now be resolved.”
He added that it was ironic for the country that has been the biggest victim of terrorism to be accused of supporting it. Regarding water disputes, he noted that the issue was settled in the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, and there is no legal basis for suspending it.

Asif further said that Pakistan’s response was clear evidence of its preparedness. “The way we responded left Modi mentally shaken and politically weakened, as he faced criticism in his own parliament.”
“This was also a diplomatic victory for Pakistan as except for Israel, no other country supported India. If India attempts such actions again, the whole world will stand with Pakistan.”
Pakistan demonstrated both restraint and military strength, and according to the minister, the country has not achieved such a significant success in its 76-year history as its forces have this time.
