Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai has urged people to pay greater attention to mental health, revealing that she herself experienced mental health challenges following the Taliban attack.

During an interview held as part of the promotion of her book Finding My Way, she shared personal experiences, noting that she was once among those who did not give much importance to mental health.

Malala Yousafzai said she hopes her book will help raise awareness and deepen understanding of mental health issues.

Earlier, Malala recalled meeting her husband Asser Malik, then 35, during her third term at Oxford University, describing his presence as a light that “vanquished the dark clouds that hung over the prospect of my third term at Oxford.”

She went on to detail how the two secretly dated, often taking precautions to avoid being recognized in public.

In one incident, Malala recounted walking with Asser when a woman spotted them and began taking photos out of excitement. She alerted Asser and her security team, explaining how careful they had to be to maintain privacy.
