Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday claimed that advance intelligence received ahead of the military confrontation known as Marka-e-Haq played a decisive role in Pakistan’s success against India during the May 2025 conflict.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Naqvi praised the leadership of Asim Munir, as well as the Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies, describing their contribution during the confrontation as “highly significant”.

He said Pakistan’s military response had left India “frightened”, forcing New Delhi to seek an urgent ceasefire within days of the escalation. According to the minister, India approached several countries, including the United States, in an effort to halt the conflict.

Naqvi further alleged that Pakistani drones had operated over several Indian cities, including Delhi, for extended periods during the confrontation, creating fear among the Indian population.

He also claimed Pakistan targeted Indian oil refineries and military installations, while insisting Pakistani forces avoided civilian targets.

The minister stated that India launched multiple missiles towards the Nur Khan Airbase during the conflict, though he claimed only one missile landed within the base premises while others missed their targets.

Referring to the ongoing security situation, Naqvi warned neighbouring Afghanistan against supporting militant activity inside Pakistan, saying security forces continued to foil attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on a near-daily basis.

The minister added that commemorative events marking one year of Marka-e-Haq were continuing across the country, describing the operation as an example of strong coordination among Pakistan’s armed forces in responding to what he called Indian aggression.
