Former Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader Miftah Ismail has unveiled the name, launching date, and manifesto of his political party.

Talking to a private news channel, Miftah Ismail said he is returning to politics with a fresh political identity, “Awaam Pakistan” party, along with his colleague Shahid Khan Abbasi, who would lead the party as a convener.

According to Miftah, the party would be launched next month in a ceremony, set to be held in Islamabad on July 6.

The party aims to bring a change in the country and has a manifesto to transform the governance system in the country with the assistance of the masses, who are the core source of decision-making.

Miftah said that his colleague was in contact with several politicians across the country to boost the political weight of the party.

Former finance minister counted fewer names, including former PML-N leaders Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi, Javed Abbasi, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Rana Zahid Tauseef, Zahid Binnouri, and Sardar Anwar Soomro, who would be the office bearers of Awaam Pakistan party.

Moreover, Zafar Mirza and Sheikh Salauddin would also join a fresh political venture soon.

Two months ago, former PML-N vice president Shahid Khaqan Abbasi approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to get registration of his political party.

However, Maryam Nawaz's posting as vice president in the party, heading her father Nawaz Sharif, led PMLN to differences with Abbasi, while Miftah separated himself from the ruling party when he was replaced by Ishaq Dar as Finmin.
