Mir Raza case: Judicial commission receives messages, emails from citizens with information

The Judicial Commission investigating alleged negligence in the Mir Raza Ali murder case has received messages and emails from citizens offering information that could assist its proceedings.

Commission registrar Abdul Majid said that several citizens contacted the commission with information they believed could help in tracing what happened to Mir Raza.

One person offered to provide information about the victim’s Binance accounts, which police have said the deceased had been using for around four years. Another shared details about his “digital footprints”, which the registrar said would be passed on to the investigation team.

The commission was also contacted by a person who pointed to a “suspicious individual” and suggested that the person be investigated. Another citizen offered information concerning Mir Raza’s iCloud login.

Majid assured those who had contacted the commission that their identities would be kept confidential.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar appeared before the commission on Thursday and apologised for a "misunderstanding".

Speaking to the media after the hearing, Lanjar said that the provincial government wanted justice for Mir Raza Ali’s family and for the facts surrounding his death to come to light. He said completion of the commission’s proceedings was important to establish what had happened.

“I also said before the commission today that whoever is found involved in this will be punished,” the minister said.
