Pakistan will likely observe the first day of Ramazan on March 12 (Tuesday), a weather analyst said on Wednesday, as the nation readies itself for the holy month's festivities and prayers.
According to the weatherman Jawad Memon, the birth of the Ramazan moon will be on March 10, but it will not be visible at the time.
However, there are 95 percent chance that the moon will be sighted through the naked eye on March 11, he added.
Memon said the Muslims will offer the first Taraweeh in Pakistan on March 11.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Islamabad on coming Monday to see the crescent of the holy month.
Zonal committees would convene in their respective regions to receive and assess moon sighting reports.
Muslims throughout Pakistan and the rest of the world observe the month of Ramazan annually.
During Ramazan, Muslims adhere to fasting from dawn till sunset, fostering a sense of community and empathy for the less fortunate through shared iftars.
