Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif is all set to take over the reins of his party after Shehbaz Sharif resigned as the President of the party.
The meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) will be convened on May 18 at 11:30pm at 180H block model town in Lahore.
Secretary General PML-N Ahsan Iqbal has sent a seeking attendance of all CEC members in the meeting.
The decision was taken due to PM Shehbaz Sharif's engagement in government matters and "he is not able to pay full attention to the party".
Sources said that the CEC will elect Nawaz Sharif as PML-N president in the meeting.
It's pertinent to mention here that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified as PML-N President in 2018 following his removal as prime minister in 2017 in Panama Papers under Article 62 and 63.
