The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of severe weather across Pakistan, with five active systems bringing thunderstorms, heavy rain, and hailstorms to multiple regions.

The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi face heightened risks due to converging weather systems, with intense downpours and strong winds expected Thursday evening.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), northern Punjab, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) may experience scattered hailstorms and windstorms, while southern Punjab, including Rahim Yar Khan, could see moderate rainfall. Peshawar and surrounding areas are also on alert for gusty winds and thunderstorms.

The NDMA urged local authorities to stay vigilant and coordinate emergency responses. Residents were advised to avoid unnecessary travel, secure loose structures, and protect crops from hail damage. Tourists and travelers were cautioned against risky outdoor activities in hilly areas.

The adverse weather is expected to persist until June 1, with the NDMA monitoring the situation closely. Updates will be issued as conditions develop.
